# Introduction

> Master courtroom skills through AI-powered trial simulation

# Welcome to LitigationLabs

LitigationLabs is an AI-powered courtroom simulation platform designed to help legal professionals develop and refine their trial advocacy skills in a controlled, risk-free environment. The platform enables attorneys to practice witness examinations, object to improper questions, and receive immediate feedback on their performance—all before stepping into an actual courtroom.

## The Challenge of Trial Preparation

Trial advocacy presents a unique pedagogical challenge. Unlike many professional skills that can be honed through repetition and self-study, effective courtroom examination requires dynamic interaction with opposing counsel, witnesses, and the presiding judge. Traditional preparation methods—mock trials, moot courts, and mentorship—while valuable, are constrained by scheduling, cost, and the availability of qualified participants.

LitigationLabs addresses these constraints by providing on-demand access to realistic courtroom simulations powered by multi-agent AI orchestration.

## How LitigationLabs Works

The platform operates through four interconnected capabilities:

## Key Platform Components

### CaseSim: The Courtroom Simulator

CaseSim is the flagship feature of LitigationLabs. It provides an interactive environment where you conduct witness examinations while AI agents play the roles of:

* **Witnesses** who respond realistically based on their assigned profiles and knowledge
* **Opposing Counsel** who raises appropriate objections when warranted
* **The Judge** who rules on objections according to the Federal Rules of Evidence

### Scenarios and Evidence

Each simulation is built around a **scenario**—a self-contained case with defined facts, witness profiles, and evidentiary materials. Scenarios include:

* Background facts and case context
* Witness profiles with testimony boundaries
* Evidence exhibits that can be introduced during examination
* **Elicits**: key facts you must extract through your questioning

### Scoring and Feedback

The platform tracks your progress by monitoring which key facts (elicits) you successfully extract from witnesses. Semantic matching ensures that paraphrased or indirect admissions are properly credited, while the scoring system provides clear feedback on your examination effectiveness.

## Who Uses LitigationLabs

LitigationLabs serves legal professionals across the spectrum of experience:

* **Trial attorneys** preparing for upcoming examinations
* **Litigation associates** building foundational advocacy skills
* **Law students** supplementing clinical education
* **CLE participants** fulfilling continuing education requirements
* **Legal departments** training in-house counsel on deposition technique
